SOFTWARE SALES - FOOD INDUSTRY

Small, fast growing software company is looking for two experienced, ambitious, self-starters to join our sales team. The company develops software for the food manufacturing industry, which we sell both locally and internationally. We offer a salary plus generous commission structure. There are no caps on commission which is paid on both new sales and on recurring license fees, so if you are hard working and can sell, a 6-figure income is achievable.

Responsibilities:

- Become intimately familiar with our products and how to apply them in a production environment.
- Keep up to date with new product versions, product changes and planned product enhancements.
- Suggest improvements and additions to the software based on prospect and customer feedback.
- Ability to understand the customer's business issues and reporting environments.
- Bring on new customers and retain existing accounts through excellent customer service.
- Identify customer and prospect needs and recommend the best solutions and configurations.
- Maintain and increase sales to existing accounts by providing exceptional customer service and account management.
- Achieve maximum sales through outbound calling and solution selling, performing online product demonstrations and consistently following up with customers.

Requirements:

- 3+ years of sales and account management experience.
- Thorough knowledge of a consultative or solution-based sales process composed of prospecting, qualifying, presenting, objection handling, and closing.
- Strong sales skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- An excellent command of the English language with the ability to communicate both technically and non-technically.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on independence. We are a small company and do not have the resources to devote a lot of time to hand-holding. The ability to set your own goals, and to meet and exceed targets without continual direction is paramount in our environment.
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency using hardware, software and network resources, while resolving customer issues.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in or selling to the food manufacturing industry (student employment in fast-food chains does not qualify).
- Experience selling or supporting software applications would be a distinct advantage.
- Occasional travel within Canada and America may be required.
