APPLICATION SPECIALIST / SOFTWARE TRAINER

Small, fast growing software company is looking for an Application Specialist to provide technical support and training to our end users. The company develops software for the food manufacturing industry, which we sell both locally and internationally.

Responsibilities:

- Phone and email support of proprietary software products;
- Provide online and face-to-face solution configuration and training services to end users;
- Co-ordinate the successful delivery and implementation of our software application to customers in the food industry;
- Provide follow up technical support to clients, installing software updates, document and organize projects for multiple clients;
- Develop procedures and documentation, including user & installation guides and reference materials
- Assist the product support team in the resolution of product support issues from time-to-time
- Assist the sales team in solution demonstrations and RFP/RFI responses from time-to-time;
- Assist the development team in quality assurance, product testing from time-to-time;
- Maintain knowledge of our software applications and industry trends;
- The role will require occasional travel within Canada and the USA for on-site training, and the flexibility to deliver online training within various time-zones.

Requirements:

- 3+ years demonstrated experience in implementation, training and pre & post sales support role within a software company;
- Plan, prioritize and organize own work; work on several projects concurrently;
- Degree / Diploma in Business, Computer Information Systems or related field preferred;
- An excellent command of the English language with the ability to communicate both technically and non-technically;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including instructional, facilitation, and presentation skills;
- Experience with Windows desktop and server OS;
- Experience with basic networking;
- Experience with supporting Windows Terminal Server and Remote Desktop technologies an asset;
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in or selling to the food manufacturing industry (student employment in fast-food chains does not qualify).
